Embrace the ultimate scenic flight: a breathtaking bird’s eye view of some of the world’s most dramatic extremes. Nepal is home to 8 of the 14 mountains that are over 8000 meters in altitude, and this tailor-made package brings you unique access to each of them. We offer an awe-inspiring experience of the incredible terrain on offer.
Our unbeatable flight route starts from Kathmandu before moving to the West. From within the helicopter, you will be surrounded by the spectacular mountains, ravines, and lakes of the area. The sights we take you through are magnificent: Mount Ganesh Himal, standing at 7422 meters; Mount Manaslu, the 8th highest peak in the world; Manang Valley over the Tilicho Lake, one of the highest lake in the world at 4919 meters; Kali Gandaki Valley, the deepest ravine in the world at 5 times deeper than the Grand Canyon. The breadth of the view is one you won’t get from the ground, including stunning perspectives of Mount Dhaulagiri, the world’s 7th highest peak, towering in the West while the 10th highest peak Mount Annapurna stands to the East. From the Kali Gandaki valley, we fly over Annapurna Sanctuary into Pokhara city, where the choppers refuel and fly back to Kathmandu. We could also see, weather permitting, the lowest of the 8000-meter peaks, Shishapangma in Tibet.
The next morning we fly to the far east of the country to look at Mount Kanchenjunga (8586m). It is the 3rd highest peak in the world. We then turn back to the West towards Mount Makalu at 8463 meters. It lies in the Mahalangur range and is the 5th highest peak. We now reach the Khumbu Valley. Weather permitting, we will either continue our helicopter excursion towards Everest and other giants. Otherwise we overnight at Lukla to extend our air adventure to see the mother of all Mountains – Everest!
We fly from Lukla via Thame Village (home of both Tenzing Sherpa and the world record holder of 21 summits on Everest – Apa Sherpa), continuing over Renjo la 5345 meters into the Gokyo Lakes watershed. This unforgettable area is home to lakes from the altitude of 4700 – 5000 meters, spread over an area of 485 acres: the highest freshwater lakes in the world, comprising of 6 main lakes of which Thonak is the largest (160.8 acres) and deepest (62.4 meters). This region was declared a Ramsar Site in September 2007 and will overwhelm you with its beauty.
The grand sight of 6th highest peak - Cho Oyu 8201 - and the 36km glacier, Ngozumpa, is a must-see, before we turn east, back to the Khumbu Valley. In a rotation, 2-3 passengers at a time, we will spend time exploring Pheriche village or remain in the helicopter to travel towards Kalapathar at an awe-inspiring altitude of 5555 meters. Kalapathar is a vantage point from where impressive views of Mount Everest and other Himalayan giants can be viewed. From this heart-stopping perspective, you can look down at Everest Base Camp which is about 200 meters below Kalapathar. The groups will then alternate, so that everyone can experience this life-altering adventure, before a champagne breakfast in dramatic style at Kongde, the highest resort in the world at 4250 meters. Refueling at Lukla, we will head back to Kathmandu with a lifetime of memories.
With so many spectacular experiences in one package, there is surely no more incredible way to explore the mountains.
