Tibet is culturally and historically fascinating with a rich and ancient heritage courtesy of its complex history. Tibet Autonomous Region covers 1.2 million sq km of the Tibetan plateau with Chang Tang, a rocky desert making up the north, protected forests in the east and the more temperate southern valleys bringing up the rear. Tours will focus on the towns of Lhasa, Shigatse, and Gyantse with visits to Jokhang Temple, Potala Palace and Kumbum stupa on the agenda. An excursion to the Everest Base Camp is also an option.
