The Ama Dablam base camp trek has been designed for trekkers to experience some of the prettiest remote Sherpa villages, all within easy walking distance of Namche Bazaar, the Sherpa capital. The main objective of this trek is to stand at the foot of the region’s most beautiful mountain, but the trek is also part of one of our responsible to
urism partnerships, designed with the intention of helping local communities and the quality of life of the Sherpa residents in the villages of Khumjung, Thame and Pangboche, which very few trekkers pass through.
Ama Dablam means ‘Mothers Necklace’ - as the hanging glacier closely resembles a dablam, which is a type of necklace worn by Sherpa women. During the trek you will spend 10 nights in remote local villages, staying in lovely lodges owned by Sherpa families. There is an opportunity to reach the staggering altitude of 5,000m this trek.
